Oshkosh Defense is planning to establish a plant at the Flatwood Industrial Park in Spartanburg, where it will assemble zero-emission battery electric and low-emission internal combustion engine fleet vehicles. The project scope includes reconfiguration of warehouse space; and purchase and installation of overhead cranes and hoists, automated conveyors, and automated welding and assembly, parts storage and testing equipment. TEXAS

West Pak Avocado, Inc. is planning to construct an avocado sorting and distribution facility on a 6.6-acre site at the Pinnacle Industry Center in Laredo. The project scope includes design and construction of a 100,000-sq-ft building with cooler space and ripening rooms; purchase and installation of refrigeration systems, racking, a packing line bin infeed system, automated tray fillers, a manual exit conveyor system, bagging machines; and purchase of forklifts and pallet jacks. WEST VIRGINIA

ESC Brands LLC is planning to establish a sanitization products manufacturing and distribution facility in Bluefield. The three-phase project includes upfit of two buildings; construction of a building; purchase and erection of structural steel; and purchase and installation of raw material receiving and handling equipment, chemical storage tanks, and laboratory, formulation, blending, and filling equipment. ESC Brands will purchase equipment, and the Mercer County Economic Development Authority will select contractors for the project. Phase I, upfit of a 180,000-sq-ft building for blending and bottling, is expected to begin in late 2021. Phase II, upfit of a second building for raw materials production, will begin in 2022. An additional building will be constructed in the third phase. ESC Brands will use the facility to produce cleaners, sanitizers, disinfectants, pet care products, insect repellents and specialized coatings using its proprietary technology.
