California 1/2/20 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to carry out improvements to the Sacramento River East Levee, from just north of U.S. 50 to just west of Freeport Blvd. The work entails degrading and reconstructing 2+ miles of levee (150,000 cu yd) to support construction of both deep mix method and slurry trench cutoff walls; constructing drained stability berms and seepage berms (30,000 cu yd); reusing excavated soils that meet specification criteria for reuse as levee fill; importing soil for levee fill as necessary; and removing and replacing 2+ miles of paved bike paths. Ohio 1/15/20 The U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs is seeking bidders to carry out Phase 3 of the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Phase 3 entails developing 15 acres of land to provide 20,422 grave sites, including 6,840 standard-size pre-placed crypts, 560 oversize pre-placed crypts, 3,625 in-ground cremains burial sites, a 9,386-niche columbarium, and two memorial walls providing a total of 182 markers.
