Massachusetts The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is planning to replace Quigley Hospital in Chelsea with the Chelsea Soldiers Home Community Living Center. The six-story, 240,000-sq-ft building, with 154 beds, will offer independent living and long-term care services for veterans. It has been designed by Payette Associates Inc., and Consigli Construction Co. Inc. has been chosen as the construction manager-at-risk. Washington Evergreen Public Schools is planning to build a new Wy’east Middle School in Vancouver. The project entails constructing a new 114,000-sq-ft building, remodeling 15,100 sq ft of the existing building, demolishing the remainder of the existing school and constructing new athletic fields and parking areas. It is being designed by LSW Architects PC, and Todd Construction Inc. has been selected as the construction manager-at-risk. The project is valued at $55 million. Kentucky Dalsem Complete Greenhouse Projects is building a 60-acre greenhouse complex for AppHarvest in Morehead. The greenhouse is being manufactured at Dalsem’s plant in the Netherlands and shipped to the U.S. to be erected. It will be used to grow tomatoes and cucumbers using hydroponics and will rely entirely on rainwater stored in a retention pond on site. The project is valued at $82 million. Texas The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $13.4-million firm-fixed-price contract to Pontchartrain Partners LLC for a dike rehabilitation project on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in Brazoria and Matagorda Counties. The work consists of removing damaged articulated concrete block mattresses and constructing rip-rap revetments to replace existing damaged articulated block revetments on dikes.
