Indiana Waelz Sustainable Products is planning to construct a steel mill by-products recycling facility on a 30-acre site at the former BorgWarner campus in Muncie. The two-phase project scope includes design and construction of building space and a Waelz kiln; and purchase and installation of dust collection and compressed air systems, conveyors and blending and pelletizing equipment. The facility will have the capacity to process 100,000 tons of electric-arc-furnace dust per year to produce zinc oxide. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2019. Iowa XELA Corporation is planning to construct a medical glove manufacturing plant in Mason City. The project scope includes design and construction of a building; and purchase and installation of latex and chemical storage tanks, a compressed air system, and raw material storage, mixing, coating and packaging equipment. Michigan Shunli Steel USA Inc. is planning to construct a steel sheet pilings manufacturing plant on a 16.8-acre site in Monroe. The project scope includes design and construction of a building and equipment foundations; and installation of cold-forming machines and overhead cranes. Wyoming Kennon Products Inc. is planning to construct an engineered coverings manufacturing plant at the High-Tech Business Park in Sheridan. The project scope includes design and construction of a 40,000-sq-ft building; and purchase and installation of racking, and sewing, cutting and packaging equipment. Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority will own the building and expects to issue an RFP for design services in February 2019. Construction is expected to begin in early 2020.
