Alabama The Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center Authority is planning to renovate Legacy Arena in Birmingham. The project will entail a south-side expansion to the arena; a renovated plaza; a new lobby, including a grand stair and escalators to the main concourse and to the new upper seating bowl; and extensive renovation to the arena seating bowl, including replacement of all existing seats, the addition of new premium suites, club seating and a new upper concourse on the south end of the building. Idaho The West Ada School District is planning to construct Owyhee High School in Meridian. The two-story, 250,000-sq-ft building will be located on a 55- to 60-acre site at 7020 W. Ustick Rd. Missouri Worcester Investments is planning to convert 720 Main St., a ten-story office building in Kansas City, into Flashcube Apartments. The first floor will be used for office and retail uses, and the remaining floors will contain 184 apartments. It is being designed by Clockwork Architecture & Design, and MW Builders, Inc. has been chosen as the general contractor. Construction is expected to begin in January 2019 and be completed by September 2020. The project is valued at $37 million. Nevada Rising Tides LLC is planning to build a 310-unit single-family residential subdivision in Sparks, on a 67.5-acre site east of Kiley Parkway, north of Windmill Farms Parkway and south of Lazy Five Parkway. Massachusetts Seaver Construction Inc. and The Maggiore Cos., working jointly, have started building the Shannon Farm townhomes in Woburn. The 24-acre development will encompass 29 two-story buildings, containing 112 townhomes and totaling 230,000-sq-ft, plus a club house. Michigan And Wisconsin Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC, has started upgrading two ferry terminals on Lake Michigan, in Ludington, Mich., and Manitowoc, Wis. The existing sheet-pile dock wall and timber-frame fender system is being completely rebuilt. Additional components include construction of a 300-ft-long stone revetment, reconstruction of a new loading apron, and installation of enhanced navigational and safety lighting. Construction is expected to be substantially completed by May 15, 2019, the start of the new ferry season. The project is valued at $10.7 million. New Jersey The Naval Facilities Engineering Command has awarded a $17.9-million firm-fixed-price contract to Triton Marine Construction Corp. for the repair of trestle box beams at Naval Weapons Station Earle in Colts Neck. The work involves concrete spall repairs on the underside of Trestle 1A to the pile caps, beams and deck; carbon fiber reinforced polymer strengthening of existing reinforced concrete box beams using the wet layup process; and installation of five new pile bents. Ten new piles will be driven on Trestle 1A to strengthen the existing box beams. The project is expected to be completed by March, 2024. New Mexico 1/9 The City of Albuquerque is seeking bidders to convert the former armory at 400 Wyoming Blvd NE into the regional transportation management center.
