Lattice Crawler Crane: New Features Save Fuel

The Link-Belt 348 Series 2 is a 300-ton-class lattice crawler crane powered by a Cummins QSL 9, 350-hp engine that meets Tier 4 Final emissions requirements. The Series 2 features several improvements over earlier models, including ultrawide hoist drum laggings for the standard 28-millimeter rope, extending rope life and offering a maximum line pull of 53,306 lb. The winch system features an ECO mode that reduces demand on the engine when under load, keeping it under 1,000 rpm even when working at maximum line speed. The Series 2 allows for the crane’s heavy duty boom to be used in both conventional and luffing configurations, removing the need to change out tops. Link-Belt Cranes; www.linkbelt.com
