Aerial Work Platform: Diagnostic Tool

The Genie Tech Pro is a handheld diagnostic tool for servicing Genie aerial work platforms and mobile elevated work platforms. The wireless device can be used to monitor the equipment’s engine performance as well as calibrate the machine’s settings. The tool can read the equipment’s onboard sensor data, including engine temperature, fuel levels, battery voltage and fault code information. It is currently compatible with Genie’s XC boom lifts that feature CAN bus interfaces. The tool can be used without a laptop or other device. Genie, a Terex brand; www.genielift.com

Pipe Fusion: Lightweight Design

The Spider 125 Series 2 pipe socket fusion tool is designed to fuse segments of polypropylene pipe in sizes from 2 in. to 4 in. The lightweight tool can be used in overhead applications and requires only one worker to operate. A removable fitting allows for it to be used in crossover connections with HDPE pipe. Improvements over the earlier model include more-durable components and a D-ring for easier transport. It has a universal clamping jaw that works with all brands of pipe and fittings and features tool-free adjustment. McElroy Manufacturing; www.mcelroy.com

Hydraulic Transport: Skidding System

The Enerpac Low-Height Skidding System can transport heavy loads over a preconstructed track using high-pressure hydraulics. The system has a 400-ton capacity when used with two push-pull hydraulic units. With a lower-height than other transport systems, the Enerpac LH series is well suited for sites where there is not adequate clearance. The transport direction can be easily reversed for better positioning, and the system’s modular design allows for it to be configured to meet the needs of the jobsite. Enerpac; www.enerpac.com

Concrete Repair: Spray-Applied Mortar System

Simpson Strong-Tie’s Fabric-Reinforced Cementitious Matrix (FRCM) is designed for repairing and strengthening concrete and masonry structures. The system consists of a spray-applied mortar and a carbon-fiber grid and can be used in place of more complex shotcrete solutions that require the use of rebar. The FRCM system provides a thin structural layer without significantly increasing the overall structure’s mass or volume. A single 1-in. layer of FRCM can provide structural strength for many applications, and an additional 1⁄2--in. layers can be added as needed. Simpson Strong-Tie; www.strongtie.com
