Alaska The Alaska Dept. of Transportation & Public Facilities is planning to carry out transportation improvements in Selawik. The improvements include the rehabilitation of parts of the community boardwalk as well as two pedestrian bridges across the Selawik River, upgrades to the Barge Landing access road, and construction of a barge-landing staging area. Colorado Frontier Management LLC is planning to build The Lodge at Seven Lakes senior living campus in Loveland. District of Columbia Safeway Inc. is planning to build the Tenleytown Safeway mixed-use development on a 2.5-acre site at 42nd and Davenport streets in the neighborhood of Tenleytown. The project includes the modernization of the existing ground-level grocery store and the addition of four stories, which will contain 220 rental apartments and 340 parking spaces. Florida Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust is planning to build the Lakeland Park Center shopping mall in Lakeland. The first phase entails a 210,000-sq-ft building, designed by Wah Yee Associates. New York A joint venture of Schiavone Construction and Yonkers Contracting has been awarded a $101.6-million contract and started construction of the first phase of the Rondout-West Branch Bypass Tunnel. The first phase entails site preparation and sinking two 30-ft-dia shafts: a 900-ft-deep shaft in Newburgh and a 700-ft-deep shaft in Wappinger. The subsequent phase, which has not yet been awarded, will entail boring a 2.5-mile-long, 22-ft-dia tunnel, which will be 14.5 ft in dia after being lined. The bypass tunnel will allow the New York City Dept. of Environmental Protection to reroute water around a leaking section of the Delaware Aqueduct.
