The Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute is distributing a free CD that offers data and guidance on the use of epoxy- coated reinforcing bar.
Schaumburg, Ill.-based CRSI developed the CD for manufacturers, consultants, engineers, state agency personnel and others who use coated rebar for corrosion protection in concrete reinforcement.
Divided into three sections--plan, design and construct--the information includes videos to explain how the material is coated and how it should be fabricated and handled in the plant and on the jobsite.
PDF documents also provide background on corrosion, life-cycle cost, performance data and tips for corrosion-resistant design.
To obtain a copy of the CD, e-mail John Prentice, CRSI's manager of corrosion protection, at jprentice@crsi.org.
