Autodesk Inc. has agreed to buy the software and related assets of CAiCE Software Corp., a Florida-based developer of surveying and engineering applications for large-scale transportation projects, for $10 million in cash.
Autodesk, San Rafael, Calif., says the software from the Tampa-based company will complement its civil engineering products as well as its Geographic Information Systems line. The goal is to give large transportation agencies a single-vendor product set to bridge the gaps between planning, design, construction and maintenance. The deal is expected to close in early September.
