CH2M Hill, Denver, announced Feb. 14 that it has hired Lee A. McIntire, a former top executive of Bechtel Group Inc., San Francisco, to be president and chief operating officer. He retired from Bechtel in 2004 as president of its global civil infrastructure business and a board member. He previously served as president of Bechtel North America and Bechtel National Inc., the parent firms government services arm. McIntire was a 15-year Bechtel employee. McIntire, who formerly headed Bechtels work for the Dept. of Energy, interacted with CH2M Hill while both were performing cleanup work at the agencys Hanford, Wash., former nuclear site. He is to be based in Denver. He had joined the board of Tetra Tech, Pasadena, Calif., but has resigned that position.

McIntire has significant experience in international markets and in doing engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) projects, says Ralph Peterson, CH2M Hill chairman and CEO. The move with Lee is about adding talent to help us continue our success on todays bigger platform, says Ralph Peterson, who will remain in his current positions.
