Designed by Dallas-based HKS, the $53-million Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound received the 2010 Symposium Distinction Design Team Award at the Healthcare Facilities Symposium in September. The team award focuses on a project team that has worked together to change the face of health-care design through innovation, creativity, efficiency and teamwork.

The hospital is one of the first integrated project-delivery projects in the country. The project’s duration was 396 days; 87 were missed due to weather or permitting issues.

Fifty of the 87 days were made up through an integrated project team approach, and the project opened on time.

Approximately $1.4 million of the project’s contingency was added back to the project.

HKS principal/director health facilities Joseph Sprague received the Individual Achievement Award, which recognizes an individual in architecture, interior design or facility management who has displayed leadership and vision in an group or project team.
