Honnen Equipment, one of the largest construction equipment dealerships in the western United States, dedicated on June 9 its new state-of-the-art facility in Salt Lake City. Located at 1380 S. Distribution Drive, the building spans 14 acres near the corner of Bangerter Highway and California Avenue. The concrete structure is more than 60,000 sq ft and required 480 loads, or 19 million lbs, of concrete to build.

The building sets new standards for industrial facilities, with 22 full-service bays spanning 30,000 sq ft.

The building sets new standards for industrial facilities, with 22 full-service bays spanning 30,000 sq ft that allow Honnen technicians to service heavy equipment quickly and efficiently. The indoor wash bay keeps equipment looking new, while the parts warehouse can accommodate more than 10,000 unique parts. The entire facility is dedicated to exceeding customer expectations, Honnen company officials say.

Having more equipment on-site will allow larger projects to move forward, and with the size of the new facility and its increased parts and service capabilities, technicians can keep more equipment working in the field rather than in the shop.

At the dedication, Mark Honnen, president of Honnen Equipment, said, “We have operated in the Rocky Mountain region for over 50 years, and most recently, for the past five years in Utah. Utah has a strong, diverse economy, a skilled and educated labor force and overall is a great place to live, work and play. This new location further demonstrates our commitment to the construction industry, especially our customers and employees in the Salt Lake City market.”
