The Contracting Plastering Associations of Central Valley and Northern California (East Bay, Fresno, Sacramento, San Francisco and South Bay), along with the Capitol Drywall/Lathing Contractors Association (CDLCA) and the Northern California Drywall Contractors Association (NCDCA) recently formed, and will operate under, the Wall And Ceiling Alliance (WACA).
The Wall And Ceiling Alliances strategic partnership was created to give its member associations a stronger presence in the plaster and drywall industry in Northern California.
The boards of directors from each association recently came together to elect an executive board for the Wall And Ceiling Alliance that is representative of the size, work scopes and geography of each of the seven associations merging into the new group.
The 13 people elected to the board of directors are Brian Harp, Custom Building Systems Inc., Sacramento; Chet ODonnell, ODonnell Plastering, Santa Clara; Craig Daley, Daley's Drywall and Taping Inc., Campbell; Don Archuleta, Performance Contracting, Inc., Sacramento; Doug Camerer, Decorators, Inc., Gold River; Gregg Brady, Brady Co./Central California, Inc., Castroville; Jim Ruane, Patrick J. Ruane, Inc., South San Francisco; Jim Watson, Raymond-Northern California, Inc., Concord; Joe Parker, Karsyn Construction Inc., Fresno; Nancy Brinkerhoff, Ironwood Commercial Builders, Inc., Pleasant Hill; Roger E. Henley Jr., Henley & Co., West Sacramento; Steve Eckstrom, California Drywall Co., San Jose; and Todd Fearon, Boyett Construction, Inc., Hayward.
The formation of WACA is the culmination of a lot of hard work over many years by industry leaders in the plastering and drywall industry to provide a more cohesive and coordinated Wall And Ceiling Association to address the needs of the industry, says board member Todd Fearon, president of Boyett Construction. We fully expect that WACA will be a larger force in the industry in key areas such as industry promotion, education and labor relations.
As a united alliance, we expect to strengthen our presence in supporting our contractors concerns in Northern California, adds Nancy Brinkerhoff, CEO of Ironwood Commercial Builders, Inc. The appointed board consists of some of the most respected and experienced individuals in our industry, [each of whom] are committed to insuring WACAs success.
The Wall And Ceiling Alliance will focus on improving member resources, geographical outreach and labor relations and intends to make its combined resources available to a much larger membership in todays challenging construction marketplace.
