FLORIDA Johnson-Laux Construction will serve as general contractor on the City of Oviedo’s new public works administration building. The building will pursue LEED Gold certification, and its design incorporates a rainwater harvesting system on the roof for toilets and other graywater applications. ILLINOIS The Special Education District of Lake County in Gages Lake has selected IHC Construction as construction manager for its $22.5-million additions and renovations program. The program consists of the construction of the new $18.6-million Laremont-Ureche School at the Gages Lake campus. MARYLAND Clark Design/Build, a unit of Clark Construction Group, was selected as general contractor for the new $80-million Oakland Hall Dormitory at the University of Maryland’s College Park campus. The eight-story, 200,000-sq-ft cast-in-place concrete high-rise building will provide housing for 650 students. The project also calls for a new satellite central utility building to provide chilled water for the dormitory as well as several other existing campus buildings. TEXAS All American Building Systems, a unit of Coachmen Industries, has received a letter of intent to build housing for the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss in a deal valued at $21.3-million. The order calls for a total of seven barracks buildings, to be prefabricated at the company’s factory and then transported to the site on tractor-trailers for siting and installation.
