Product Snapshot: Highway Paver and Impact Bits

The Dynapac F800T Highway Class Paver has a forward screed capable of an 8-ft to 19-ft working width. It has dual swing-out operator platforms, allowing for clear views of the work area. The paver runs on a six-cylinder Cummins diesel engine that meets Tier 4 Final emissions standards. The feed-control system features four ultrasonic sensors that scan incoming aggregate and adjust flow speed to reduce material separation. An optional, integrated hydraulic tunnel can eliminate spillage along the track.

Milwaukee has expanded its line of Shockwave Impact Duty Driver Bits to fit a variety of bit-tip sizes and kit configurations. The bits are now available in Phillips, square, slotted, ECX and hex driver-bit styles. According to the manufacturer, the bits can last up to 30 times longer than normal impact bits and are able to deliver three times as much torque. The bits feature machined tips to ensure proper fit in the tool and reduce the chance of stripping or wobbling. Each steel bit has been heat-treated in a proprietary process to reduce wear and extend the bits working life.

The Bosch GBM 13-2 RE Professional Drill has a variable speed of up to 3,000 rpm and can deliver 1.8 ft-lb of torque. The drill weighs 5.3 lb and has a 4-ft power cord. In addition to standard models with a quick-change or a keyed chuck, the drill is also available with a precision chuck, which features an additional clamping ring to keep the drill bit in place during demanding applications. An automatic motor shut-off prevents damage to the drill if the bit binds while drilling.

Thunder Creek has announced that its new FST Series Diesel-Exhaust Fluid (DEF) trailers will be available through Case Construction Equipment's U.S. dealer network. The trailers are designed to service equipment that relies on DEF to meet emissions standards. Each trailer has a pump and DEF storage tank, which are fully contained to reduce possible exposure to contaminants. The trailers are available with a range of options, including built-in light towers or a three-in-one welder-generator-compressor set. The trailer's frame is durable enough for off-road travel, and fully baffled fuel tanks ensure smooth travel during on-highway transport.

The Hilti PS 50 Multidetector can detect both ferrous and non-ferrous materials embedded in concrete, allowing for a clearer view before drilling anchor holes or other penetrations. The tool uses pulsed radar to detect materials up to 57/8 in. deep in concrete. It can detect and identify metal, wood, plastic and even live wires. A built-in display shows material type and approximate embedment depth. The tool has preset configurations for scanning different base materials, including concrete, wet concrete, drywall and hollow brick. The tool is covered by Hilti's Calibration Service, which will recalibrate and recertify the tool's precision as needed.
