Our list of the 25 largest projects to break ground in the tristate region last year is firming up with, perhaps not so surprising, Manhattan emerging as the place with the most mega-project activity. In fact, most of the starts on the list, which ranks projects by contract value, are in New York State, although, a few New Jersey projects made the list. So far, no Connecticut starts are on the list, so if you know of any that meet the criteria -- that is, projects that broke ground last year and have a contract value of at least $100 million, do let us know.

We've been busy this year talking with officials and gathering information. This has resulted in one addition to and one subtraction from the list that was published in this blog on Feb. 1. The addition is the $250-million Winter Garden renovation under way in lower Manhattan, and the deletion is the Municipal Solid Waste project in various Brooklyn locations. If we hear of any other changes, we'll be sure to keep you posted.

Below is the updated alphabetical listing of the rankings. Stay tuned for ENR New York's March 11th issue for more details on these and other top starts in the region.
