What an event this should be! Mark your calendar!
APRIL 5-7, (Friday-Sunday) at the Sacramento Sheraton Grand!
Women Building California and the Nation 2013 is headed for another record attendance as construction tradeswomen from across the US and several countries prepare to join for three days of networking, skill building, leadership development and organizing.
Over 600 Tradeswomen broke the record for attendance in 2011. In 2012, 520 attended! Organizers expect the largest ever contingent of women ironworkers to attend this year!
This third annual national conference, piggy-backed with the 12th annual event for craftwomen in California, are sponsored by the AFL-CIO, its Building and Construction Trades Dept, and the California Building Trades Council, with support also from several international unions.
Tradeswomen, union leaders, apprenticeship coordinators, contractors, and politicians will participate in more than 30 workshops and plenary sessions.
Sisters in the Building Trades will again be making a video for the Conference to share on the big screen. Please donate photos to the Sisters Gallery, http://sitbt.org/gallery/
Please send as full file attachments to firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be a lot of solidarity on tap, as attendees are encouraged to bring union pins, tee's and stickers, "and business cards by the load."
There will be a Lapel Pin Board that has been collecting pins of locals where women have come from over the years.
Say the conference organizers:
"If the younger generation can see us, they can dream of following us…"
