Recognition is always delightful to share, especially when it comes from our peers in journalism and construction. ENR editors have been honored recently by the Construction Writers Association (CWA) and the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE.

CWA means a lot to ENR because this group provides events and programs for editors, marketers and writers who work in the construction industry. Nadine Post, ENR editor-at-large, won CWA’s Godfrey Award, which honors journalistic talent for a large body of work. Her winning articles are titled “Model Contract for Integrated Project Delivery Is on Hot Seat,” “Dallas Curtain-Raiser: Staging Machinations” and “Not Just Another Pretty Place: Landscape Architecture Rising.”

Tom Sawyer, ENR senior editor, and Angelle Bergeron, ENR correspondent, received CWA’s Boger Award for special reports for “Saving the Deltas.” Tony Illia, ENR special correspondent, received the Boger Award for features for the story “Inside a Safety Turnaround.” The Boger Awards are named after Robert F. Boger, a CWA founding member and ENR publisher in the 1950s and 1960s.

ENR editors have won one regional and two national ASBPE awards. Post’s “Not Just Another Pretty Place” is a national winner in the Best Technical Article category, and Debra Rubin’s story about 2009 Award of Excellence winner Bernard Amadei is a national winner in the Best Profile category.  ENR’s chief economist Timothy Grogan and data coordinator Rona Wafajow join correspondents Tom Nicholson, Steven Setzer and Bruce Buckley as regional winners in the Best Feature Series for the 2009 Quarterly Cost Reports.

Our colleagues at Architectural Record also were honored recently by the Tabbie awards, which recognize excellence among English-speaking B2B media around the world. ArchitecturalRecord.com won the gold for Best B2B Website, and Architectural Record won the gold for best online feature for its “My San Francisco” videos.

Congratulations to all the writers and editors whose work has been recognized with these significant honors.
