Cadence McShane provided construction services for the numerous retail and parking components of the adjacent commercial project representing some 400 acres. As it reached its 20th anniversary on Dec. 14, AllianceTexas has had a $36.4 billion economic impact on North Texas. The 229 companies that now call the development home have built 31.2 million sq ft and created 28,000 jobs. Since the development began, the companies and residents of the AllianceTexas also have paid more than $730 million in property taxes, including more than $105 million in 2008. Chicago-based Aries Capital affiliate, Urban Development Fund LLC provided $21.5 million in financing to develop and construct the Embassy Suites Riverwalk in San Antonio. The new 285-room, 16-floor hotel features two levels of below-ground parking, a 7,000-sq-ft grand atrium and a 7,500-sq-ft ballroom. The hotel will be built on a site currently used as a parking lot and serve as an anchor for area redevelopment. Innovative Developers Inc. of Fort Worth is performing approximately 12,900 sq ft of alterations in the Arlington Cancer Center. Initial relocation of the Infusion Center facilities began in December. The design and engineering of the alterations will accommodate the relocation of the Infusion Center and supporting pharmacy and stem cell research Facilities. Additional support and business offices and a data center also will be relocated, putting all of the Arlington Cancer Center facilities under one roof.
