Dodge data on projected 2020 construction starts in Manchester

Before COVID-19 outbreak, value of new contracts was expected to increase 29%

To date, the top starts list is an impressive mix of infrastructure, renovations, multifamily, commercial buildings, educational facilities, offices and mixed-use projects.

Dodge says the nonresidential building sector slid further in August, while housing also retreated.

The nonresidential sector soared in June, lifted by the start of several large manufacturing and office projects.

The May increase follows a 12% decline in April and shows total construction reaching the highest level reported over the past eight months. 

Public works and electric utilities rebound after a weak February.

The reduced activity in February followed a 2% decline in January, as the early months of 2018 are showing some loss of momentum.
