Product Snapshot: Directional Drill and Articulated Hauler

The HIPPO 1041 CP Multipower System is designed to fit the Polaris Ranger Crew Diesel All-Terrain Vehicle. It can power hydraulic, pneumatic, electric and welding equipment directly from the ATV's 24-hp diesel engine. The HIPPO 1041 CP Multipower System boasts one hydraulic-tool circuit, two quick-disconnect pneumatic fittings, two 120-volt outlets at 20 amps and one welding console with quick disconnects. The Polaris Ranger ATV features a 500-lb-capacity cargo storage box and one ton of towing capacity. The HIPPO Multipower System is available as a factory-installed option on the Ranger.

Terex is planning to introduce a line of articulated haulers to North America that meet Tier 4 Final emissions standards. The 30-metric-ton Terex TA300 hauler will be available first, with the 40-metric-ton TA400 entering production in August. The truck's Scania engines do not require diesel particulate filters to meet Tier 4, reducing maintenance downtime. The engines use a combination of selective catalytic reduction, exhaust gas regeneration, a variable-geometry turbo and a diesel- oxidation catalyst to meet emission standards.

The JT9 Directional Drill is powered by a 66-hp engine and capable of 9,000 lb of pullback force. It has a maximum spindle speed of 186 rpm and a thrust travel speed of 188 ft per minute. The JT9 is shorter than other directional drill rigs in its class, allowing it to be setup and transported through tight spaces and busy jobsites. The tracks are designed to minimize ground disturbance during travel. The rig's carriage is able to hold up to 300 ft of drill pipe on board.
