Product Snapshot: Modular Construction Trailer and Indoor Work Platform

New to the North American construction market, Moduflex is a modular trailer unit that can be linked in multiple configurations, including side by side, lengthwise or vertically, one atop the other, up to a height of three stories. The units can be stacked using a standard forklift or an on-site crane and demand no special equipment to link together; structural fasteners for vertical stacking are integrated into the units' frames and do not require new penetrations. The fully panelized units are pre-wired with electrical, CAT-6 and telephone connections, and they meet all current energy-efficiency standards. Each unit features double-glazed windows, reinforced floors and galvanized steel frames as well as a ceiling height of more than eight feet. Williams Scotsman; 800-782-1500; www.willscot.com

Furthermore, Moduflex units can be customized with a variety of window and door wall panels to meet the needs of specific applications. Stair attachments and other furnishings are available as build-to-order options. Already used extensively in European markets, the units are suited for construction jobsites that have restricted access and limited space, such as urban and industrial sites. While a typical construction trailer unit can take a full day to set up, the Moduflex unit can be set up in as little as two hours. The Moduflex trailer unit is targeted at the six- to 12-month service range; however, longer-term leasing arrangements, from 18 to 24 months, are also available.
