The Cat 349E Hydraulic Excavator features a Interim Tier 4, 396-net-hp C13 ACERT engine, which can use either an ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel or a blend of diesel fuel and 20% biodiesel. The excavator's hydraulic system recycles hydraulic energy when the boom lowers and recycles oil between cylinder ends during low-load operations. The excavator's heavy-lift mode increases the main hydraulic pressure to 5,512 psi while reducing engine speed and pump flow for finer control. Caterpillar Inc.; 309-675-8995; www.cat.com
