Simpson Strong-Tie has introduced a line of slide and fixed-clip connectors for use in cold-formed steel-curtain-wall construction. The connectors are engineered to accommodate different bypass framing applications in standoffs as large as 111/4 in. The line also includes connectors for head-of-wall and strut applications. The Cat 349E Hydraulic Excavator features a Interim Tier 4, 396-net-hp C13 ACERT engine, which can use either an ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel or a blend of diesel fuel and 20% biodiesel. The excavator's hydraulic system recycles hydraulic energy when the boom lowers and recycles oil between cylinder ends during low-load operations.
