BP Bright Lights calls it the largest LEED-CI project in the Midwest to achieve Platinum status, in part due to the diversion from landfill of some 85% of construction and demolition waste as well as the implementation of an under-floor air-delivery system. A 500-seat trade floor features a multilevel steel-framed mezzanine and is equipped with fully redundant mechanical and electrical systems. The judges lauded the project team's collaborative approach, which began early in the design phase and led to completion three months early and 11% under budget.
