MINNESOTA

Bongards Creameries is planning to expand its dairy processing plant in Perham. The project scope includes construction of building space for expanded milk intake bays, whey warehousing, and wastewater treatment; as well as purchase and installation of stainless steel tanks and piping, spray drying, filling, whey and cheese packaging, and wastewater treatment equipment. The project will increase milk processing capacity by 30% to 5.5 million lb of milk per day. Hammers Construction Inc. has been selected as the general contractor. NEW HAMPSHIRE

Lonza Biologics Inc., in partnership with Vertex Pharmaceuticals, is planning to construct a cell therapies production facility at Lonza’s campus in Portsmouth. The project scope includes construction of a 130,000-sq-ft building with cleanroom space; and purchase and installation of stainless steel piping, freezers, fume hoods, bioreactors, and wet laboratory, filtration, purification, sterile filling, testing, air handling, sterilization, labeling and packaging equipment. Construction is expected to begin in the late third or fourth quarter of 2023. The plant will be used to manufacture insulin-producing islet cell therapies for the treatment of type 1 diabetes. WEST VIRGINIA

Clean-Seas West Virginia, a newly-formed subsidiary of Clean Vision Corp., is planning to construct a plastic waste pyrolysis plant in Quincy. The project scope includes design and construction of building space; and purchase and installation of pyrolysis reactors, process vessels, bins, rotary dryers and manual and automatic sorting equipment. The plant will have an initial capacity to process 100 tons of plastics per day into precursors for recycled content plastics, hydrogen and other clean fuels, and plans to expand capacity to 500 tons per day by 2026.
