The final steel beam for the roof of the $2-billion Intuit Dome—the future home of the Los Angeles Clippers—was placed in March. In the eight months leading up to the topping out of the Inglewood, Calif., facility, approximately 10,500 tons of structural steel was placed in the bowl, including seven roof trusses weighing 200 tons each. When completed prior to the 2024-2025 NBA season, the 1.3-million-sq-ft, 18,000-seat multipurpose arena will include five basketball courts, a practice facility and an office building. AECOM-Hunt and Turner Construction Co. are serving as construction managers for the arena with Anderson Barker Architects and Walter P Moore as the structural engineer.
