KORE Power Inc. is planning to construct a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility in Buckeye. SOUTH CAROLINA

Meridian Chemicals is planning to construct a recycling facility on a 10-acre site in Goose Creek. The biorefinery will have the capacity to process 110,000 tons of crude tall oil into a wide range of industrial products. VIRGINIA

Prince William County is planning to carry out the Route 28 Manassas Bypass project. The project involves building a four-lane roadway with a shared-use path trail on one side. It will start at the intersection of Godwin Drive and Route 234 and tie into the existing Route 28 just over the Fairfax County line. WSP USA Inc. received a $14.9-million design contract. WISCONSIN

Mandel Group Inc. plans to redevelop the 30-acre former School Sisters of Notre Dame campus in Elm Grove into housing. Two existing convent buildings, Notre Dame Hall and Maria Hall, will be converted into 237 apartments. Twenty-one single-family homes will be built along Red Barn Lane. Mandel hired Milwaukee architect Engberg Anderson and environmentally focused planner Applied Ecological Services Inc. of Brodhead to work on the project. The project is valued at $54 million. CALIFORNIA/NEVADA

Beta Engineering has begun carrying out the McCullough/Victorville Lines 1 and 2 Series Compensation Project. The project entails demolishing and removing the existing series capacitors and associated equipment at both the McCullough Switching Station in southern Nevada and the Victorville Switching Station in Victorville, Calif. Beta will design, engineer, procure, construct, install, test and commission the new series capacitors and associated equipment at both the MSS and VSS, as well as provide training and preventative maintenance and support services. NORTH DAKOTA

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $114.9-million firm-fixed-price contract for construction of the Red River Structure of the Fargo Moorhead Metropolitan Flood Risk Management Project. The project entails construction of a gated structure with three 50-ft-wide Tainter gates, dam walls, mechanical platform bridge, stilling basin, dentated end sill, downstream retaining walls, approach apron, slope protection slab and approach walls. The radial-arm floodgates will be lowered to limit the amount of floodwaters that enter the metro area, allowing up to 37 ft of water during a 100-year flood.
