Compared with 2020, construction activity in the Jacksonville, Fla., area has picked up, says Tucker Hoffman. “Projects that were on ‘pause’ are back on, and some segments, like health care, really never slowed down,” she says. Development at the Shipyards area proposed by Shad Khan and the Jacksonville Jaguars could further boost construction. In addition, a voter-approved half-cent sales tax for Duval County Public Schools is projected to fund $1 billion in construction projects.
