Water and environmental consultant Woodard & Curran, Portland, Maine, elevated Alyson Watson to CEO, effective on Jan. 1.

Based in San Francisco, she leads the firm’s Municipal West business unit since joining it in 2016 after the purchase of RMC Water and Environment, of which she was CEO. Watson has been a Woodard & Curran board member since 2018.

She succeeds Douglas McKeown, CEO since 2006; he continues as board chair. The firm ranks at No. 68 on ENR’s Top 500 Design Firms list, reporting $246.3 million in 2019 revenue.

 

Robyn Raphael-Dynan has been promoted to president of RCC Associates, a 49-year-old Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based building contractor that works nationwide. Joining the firm in 2004 as a project coordinator, she has been, most recently, vice president of operations.

 

Cascade Environmental, a Bothell, Wash., drilling and remediation services contractor, has named Ron Thalacker CEO. Formerly chief operating officer, he joined the firm in 2016. Thalacker succeeds John Cowdery, who the firm says will retire in June 2021 but remains executive chairman until then.  The firm ranks at No. 59 on ENR's list of The Top 200 Environmental Firms, reporting $214 million in 2019 revenue.

 

Portman Architects, Atlanta, has elevated Robert Halverson to chairman and CEO. He succeeds John C. “Jack” Portman III, who died in August at age 71. He was the son of John C. Portman Jr., who died in 2017 and founded the firm as John Portman and Associates in 1953. Halverson joined Portman in 2007 from senior project manager roles at Skidmore,Owings and Merrill and Davis Brody Bond. He also is an executive advisory board member for the Georgia Institute of Technology School of Design and is on the advisor board of the Syracuse University School of Architecture.

 

Gary Ellis, president of Jacobsen Construction Co., West Valley City, Utah, has been elevated to the added role of CEO, effective on Jan. 1. He succeeds  Douglas C. Welling, who is retiring after nine years in the position and 33 years at the company. Jacobsen ranks at  No. 174 on ENR's list of The Top 400 Contractors, reporting $561.3 million in 2019 revenue, primarily in building construction.
