Alabama Koch Foods, Inc. is planning to construct a feed mill and grain storage and distribution facility on a 130-acre site in Attalla. The project scope includes construction of building space, grain receiving and feed loadout areas, grain silos and equipment foundations; laying of track and rail; and purchase and installation of hoppers, conveyors, and milling, mixing and blending equipment. The facility will have the capacity to store one million bushels of corn. Younglove Construction, LLC has been selected to provide design-build services for the project. Building construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2020. The company will use the expansion to produce nonwovens for use in personal hygiene products. Virginia Dominion Energy is planning to construct a natural gas-fired peaking power plant at Berry Hill Industrial Park in Danville.
