Alabama The Alabama Dept. of Transportation is planning to expand University Drive/U.S. Highway 72 in Huntsville from four lanes to six for a 5.5-mile segment from County Line Road to Providence Main Road. The project will add one lane in each direction with access management and signal modifications, and includes a new bridge over Indian Creek. Construction is expected to start in 2021. Colorado Southwest Airlines Co. is planning to build a maintenance hangar at Denver International Airport. Nevada Matter Real Estate is planning to develop UnCommons, a $400-million mixed-use project in Las Vegas. North Dakota The Garrison Diversion Conservancy District is planning to carry out the Red River Valley Water Supply Project. The project entails constructing a 165-mile-long, 72-in.-dia pipeline to carry water from the Missouri River near Washburn to empty into the Sheyenne River above Baldhill Dam, a reservoir north of Valley City. The pipeline will augment water supplies in 35 communities in central North Dakota and the Red River valley during long periods of drought. Ohio The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is planning to construct the Shoreline Storage Area Tunnel in Cleveland, along the I-90 corridor, from East 55th Street to Eddy Road. The SSAT, a combined sewer overflow tunnel, will be 21 ft dia and extend 15,500 ft from its gated connection to the Dugway Storage Tunnel; it will include six tunnel shafts and multiple near-surface diversion and gate control structures. Vermont Heidenberg Properties Group and Dousevicz Inc. are jointly planning to develop a senior housing facility in Berlin. Kansas Renewable Energy Systems (RES) has started constructing the 200-MW Reading Wind Farm near Reading. The project consists of erecting 62 Siemens Gamesa turbines across 23,590 acres in Osage and Lyons counties. Each turbine is mounted on an 80-meter-tall tower and has a 116-m, three-blade rotor connected to a generator. Construction is expected to be completed in 2020. The project owner is Southern Power.
