Contract Signed for Renewables Center at Former Mass. Coal Plant
Energy developer Anbaric in May signed a $650-million agreement with an affiliate of Commercial Development Co. to develop a renewable-energy center at a former coal plant in Somerset, Mass. In late April, CDC demolished two 500-ft cooling towers at the Brayton plant, clearing the way for site redevelopment. Anbaric plans to build a 1,200-MW, $250-million high-voltage direct current converter and a land-based $400-million, 400-MW battery energy storage system for delivery of offshore wind farm electric power.
