Kentucky The Kentucky Dept. of Corrections is planning to expand the Little Sandy Medium Security Prison by 816 beds. The prison is located in Sandy Hook. Texas Dallas Area Rapid Transit has awarded an $815-million design-build contract to Archer Western Herzog 4.0, a joint venture between Archer Western and Herzog Contracting Corp., to construct the Cotton Belt light rail commuter line in Dallas. The 26-mile long line will connect Plano, Richardson, Addison, North Dallas and Dallas/Fort Worth Airport. Jacobs Engineering Group will do the design work for the AWH joint venture. North Dakota 3/4 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to make improvements to an indoor firing range at Minot Air Force Base. The range will include 35 small-arms positions and four machine-gun positions. All firing positions shall be 25 meters in length and capable of supporting up to 7.62-mm ammunition. Construction will consist of a one-story building with reinforced concrete foundation and floor slab, low-slope built-up roof, structural steel frame, reinforced masonry walls, and load-bearing precast concrete wall panels. The project also includes demolition of four buildings totaling 31,000 sq ft. The project is valued between $17 million and $30 million.
