The Port of Corpus Christi (Texas) Authority and The Carlyle Group plan to develop a crude-oil export terminal. The $700-million to $1-billion facility would be the first U.S. onshore operation capable of providing export service to very large crude carriers, the port claims. Details of the schedule and contracting plan are not yet available. The terminal is expected to be operational in late 2020.
