Independent Tests Scheduled for Massachusetts Pipelines
The Massachusetts Dept. of Public Utilities will hire an independent firm to examine the state’s natural gas distribution system in the wake of massive gas explosions that killed one person on Sept. 13 and left thousands without gas.The effort will examine the system's physical condition as well as the operational and maintenance functions of the gas companies operating in Massachusetts. DPU will order the gas companies to pay for the effort. The timeline for hiring a firm is unclear.
