Winners of ENR’s annual Best of the Best Projects competition gathered in New York City for the April 6th awards breakfast. Pictured, left, is the DPR Construction-led team behind this year’s Best of the Best manufacturing project, the Biogen LSM 3X Capacity Upgrades in Research Triangle Park, N.C. Other Southeast projects honored this year included: the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, submitted by Skanska USA Building Inc., Hill International Inc. and Radius Track Corp.; the Hazlehurst 72-MW Solar Facility in Hazlehurst, Ga., submitted by McCarthy Building Cos.; and the Structural Test Stands at Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Ala., submitted by Brasfield & Gorrie and Merrick & Co. More than 200 people attended the event.

 

On March 7, Moss Construction celebrated the official groundbreaking of Nova Southeastern University’s $73.5-million Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine in Clearwater, Fla. Designed by Baker Barrios Architects, Orlando, the school is part of a $225-million philanthropic gift from Tampa-area cardiologist Dr. Kiran C. Patel and his wife, Dr. Pallavi Patel. Foundation work began in January, and the project is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2019.
