Arizona Solar Project Doubles in Size
An Arizona solar-power development doubled in size in one month, to 140 MW from 68 MW, following the Oct. 13 purchase of its initial 450-acre site in Maricopa County. Vasari Energy Inc. doubled the site to 900 acres after determining it had sufficient potential. The project, set to cost $28 million, will be developed through Vasari’s wholly owned Sonoran Solar Development Partners LLC. Following a request for proposals from short-listed contractors, construction is set to begin in October 2019, with completion set for October 2020.
