Arizona The Foundation for Senior Living is planning to build the Marist Residential Senior Living facility in Tucson. The project entails demolishing the old Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson administration building and erecting a seven-story, 90,000-sq-ft building, which will house 75 seniors in one- and two-bedroom apartments. Indiana Core Redevelopment LLC is planning to convert the former American Can factory (also known as the ICON Building) at Water and Chestnut streets in Terre Haute into the One Sycamore Apartments. Massachusetts Landquest Development, Southfield Recreation and LStar Management are planning to build the Union Point county sports complex in South Weymouth. The complex will include five regulation, multipurpose synthetic-turf fields, each 105,000 sq ft; two regulation men’s baseball fields, four regulation basketball courts, a covered picnic pavilion with concessions, a roller-hockey rink, a 200,000-sq-ft indoor recreation center and parking lots for 450 cars. Missouri The Lawrence Group, an owner-developer that also is serving as general contractor, is planning to redevelop the 14-acre former Federal Mogul foundry site at 3700 Forest Park Ave. into City Foundry Saint Louis, a mixed-use project at Cortex. Phase-one work will involve renovating more than 100,000 sq ft of the foundry building into restaurants, retail and office space, plus a food hall and market for vendors to sell from small storefronts. Idaho Exergy, an Italian firm specializing in the design and manufacturing of organic rankine-cycle heat-transfer systems, has started construction of the Walker Ranch Energy Project in Malta, Idaho. The geothermal energy project entails installing two 16-MW radial outflow turbines, for an installed capacity of 32MW. The plant is scheduled to go on line in the second quarter of 2017. California 10/26 The University of California San Diego is seeking design-build proposals from prequalified firms to carry out the Nuevo West graduate housing project. The project involves redeveloping the existing low-density housing to provide 800 new beds for the campus, arranged in two- and four- bedroom apartments in low- and high-rise buildings. The low-density apartments, consisting of 100 beds in six buildings, will be demolished. In addition, a 1,244-space parking structure will be constructed. The project is valued at $142.5 million.
