Wheel Loader: Tier 4 Final Engine

SDLG has updated its line of wheel loaders for the North American market with Tier 4 Final-compliant engines. The wheel loader has a 3-cu-yd bucket and a standard Z-bar linkage. The machine has an operating weight of 32,000 lb and is powered by a 171-hp engine that uses passive regeneration to meet emission standards. SDLG; www.sdlgna.com

Mixer Truck: Drum-Control System Reduces Load on Engine

Schwing has added a new control system for the drums on its mixer trucks. The Schwing Control System  separates drum rotation from engine RPM, reducing overall drum revolutions. The SCT senses when material is added to the drum and adjusts rotation speed and engine RPM to an optimal load setting. Once the engine RPM reaches a certain level, the hydraulic pump goes to constant flow and stops drawing power from the engine. This process reduces load on the engine with only a slight drop in drum rotation speed. The lower rotation speed also extends the life of the drum. Schwing; www.schwing.com

Backhoe Loader: Digs Deep

The 710L is the latest addition to Deere’s L-Series of backhoe loaders, featuring a dig depth of 17-ft, 3 in. Powered by a 148-hp engine that meets Tier 4 Final emission standards, the backhoe is well suited for placing pipelines, digging trenches, breaking up asphalt and concrete, and moving materials. The 710L has a top speed of 23 mph, and the front hydraulic cylinders can act as shock absorbers when traveling over rough terrain at full load.
