In year-end results released last month, Spanish contractor Ferrovial reported a 10% increase in revenue to $10.6 billion, while net profit rose 79% to $782 million. The company said it added projects in 2015 in the U.S., U.K., Poland, Canada, Australia and Colombia as it continues its expansion abroad. Ferrovial executives told analysts that it still aims to buy Australian infrastructure firm Broadspectrum, up for sale by U.K. contractorLaing O’Rourke. The Australian firm’s board has rejected Ferrovial’s bid of about $500 million.
