MISSOURI Great Lakes Management Group and Kothe Real Estate Partners are planning to convert the Brookfield Building, in Kansas City, into a hotel plus apartments. The 12-story building, located at 101 West 11th St., will be converted into a 113-room Indigo Hotel and 27 market-rate apartments. NEW YORK The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is planning to carry out the Long Beach Coastal Storm Risk Management project, which will stabilize the Atlantic Coast of Long Beach by modifying 18 existing groins, constructing four new groins, and revetment repair. Requiring about 250,000 tons of stone, it will extend about six miles, from Ohio Avenue on the City of Long Beach’s west side to Point Lookout, the terminal groin. VIRGINIA The U.S. General Services Administration is planning to build the NASA Measurement Systems Laboratory at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton. The 175,000-sq-ft building will contain six types of laboratories—laser, calibration, sensor, chemistry, electronics and prototyping—as well as clean rooms. UTAH Alder Construction has started expanding the finished water-storage capacity of the Jordan Valley Water Treatment Plant in Herriman. The project entails constructing a new 12.5-million-gallon storage reservoir, located immediately west of the existing reservoir. The new reservoir will feature a completely buried, conventionally reinforced concrete design; the reservoir will expand the plant’s water-storage capacity to 20 million gallons from 8 million gallons.
