Designed by Tishman Speyer and BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), the 65-story tower at 66 Hudson Blvd. has been named The Spiral, due to the series of terraces placed to evoke a spiraling motion. “The Spiral combines the classic ziggurat silhouette of the premodern skyscraper with the slender proportions and efficient layouts of the modern high-rise,” says BIG founding partner Bjarke Ingels. Located at the intersection of the High Line and Hudson Boulevard Park, the 2.85- million-sq-ft building will stand 1,005 ft tall; its first six floors will include a lobby with 30-ft-high ceilings and 27,000 sq ft of retail space.
