Methanol Holdings (Trinidad) Ltd. is planning to build the Big Lakes Fuel Natural Gas to Gasoline facility in Lake Charles. The facility will use natural gas to produce methanol, and then convert the methanol to gasoline using steam reforming and methanol synthesis technologies to produce 12,500 barrels per day of 87-octane gasoline. The facility has been designed by G2X Energy, and Proman AG has been selected as the general contractor. Construction is expected to begin in February. The project is valued at $1.2 billion. Oklahoma

Commercial Metals Co. is planning to build a micro steel mill on a 375-acre site in Durant. The mill will feature Danieli technology and equipment. Construction is expected to be completed by 2017. Pennsylvania

Northumberland County is planning to build a prison in Sunbury. The 62,000-sq-ft building will be located on Front Street. Sitework is out to bid, and building packages will be released within the next few months. It is being designed by Buchart-Horn Basco Associates. Alvin H. Tennessee

The Tennessee Board of Regents is planning to build a 6,600-seat football stadium for East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Phase 1 will comprise the seating bowl, retaining walls, the hospitality venue, concession stands, toilet facilities, ticketing and entrance gates, field lighting and the scoreboard. It is being designed by McCarty Holsaple McCarty Inc., and BurWil Construction Co. has been chosen as the construction manager. Lawrence Construction Co. has started to carry out the Wonderland Creek Greenways project in Boulder. The project entails both flood mitigation and multi-use path improvements from Foothills Parkway north and west to Winding Trail. It will include a new railroad bridge, relocation of a portion of the Boulder and White Rock irrigation ditch, replacement of an existing culvert crossing at Spring Creek Place, extension of the city’s multi-use path system and a new pedestrian bridge just south of Kalmia Avenue. Georgia

Brasfield & Gorrie LLC, serving as construction manager, has started building the sea lion exhibit for the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. New York

The Related Cos. is developing Tuxedo Farms, a residential and commercial development in Tuxedo. The project will encompass 1,195 homes (single-family homes, town homes and apartments) and 100,000 sq ft of retail and community buildings, including a YMCA, on a 1,250-acre site, of which 800 acres will be undisturbed under a conservation easement.
