C B&I, The Woodlands, Texas,  has been selected to build a $160-million expansion project at a refinery in Alabama. The project is designed to double gasoline and diesel production, while complying with new clean fuel regulations. CB&I, which announced the award on Oct. 2, will provide detailed engineering, procurement and modular fabrication for a new 15,000-barrel-per-day unit and a 28-million-cu-ft-per-day hydrogen plant that will use CB&I’s proprietary technology. CB&I ex­pects to complete its work on the proj­ect by the first quarter of 2009.
