KB Homes, Los Angeles, has cancelled its plan to build a major development near New Orleans, which called for 20,000 residential units. The master plan, which had been approved by Jefferson Parish, also included retail construction. The development was a partnership with the Shaw Group, Baton Rouge. KB says that after completing due diligence it came to the conclusion it could not build on all 3,000 acres of the development’s site. The company says it may still build on some portion of the tract.
