Paul Douglas, founder and chairman of Digital Cyclone Inc., Minnetonka, Minn., says he has a deal to provide "Mobile My-Cast" personalized weather data and radar images to users of Java-enabled mobile phones from Motorola for $14.95 a month.
Subscribers can predefine multiple locations, such as jobsites, with a Web-linked computer or the phone. The phone can then call for detailed forecasts localized on a 4-mile grid and centered on those points, complete with two-hour loops of the latest radar images. Users of Motorola "i" series phones can subscribe to the service at www.nextel.comupdate. See www.mycast.com for more information and details.
