UtahIn April, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneer s held a multi-million-dollar grand opening auction in Tooele County, the company’s first in Utah, marking the opening of its 22nd auction site in the United States.

More than 1,600 people from 24 countries, including 46 U.S. states and nine Canadian provinces registered to bid in person or online on more than 1,100 heavy equipment items being sold at the auction, held on the new 37-acre regional auction unit 20 miles west of Salt Lake City at Salt Point Commerce Center in Lake Point.

The Associated General Contractors of Utah has chosen Bryan Rodgers as its new district manager for the Southern Utah office in St. George. A native of South Jordan, Utah, Rodgers is a political science graduate from the University of Utah and spent seven years working for a home improvement center in the Salt Lake area.

Additionally, Rodgers has experience working as a lobbyist on Capitol Hill in Salt Lake City.

Schmahl joined JHL in 2001 in the capacity of project engineer and in 2003 was promoted to project manager. He is a graduate of Colorado State University’s School of Construction Management, where he continues to mentor students. Schmahl’s responsibilities are to oversee all day-to-day office operations, as well as the marketing department.

Ray Engen of Fort Collins-based Beaudin Ganze Consulting Engineers was recently promoted to chief operating officer. As COO, he will manage the daily operations of BGCE, lead corporate and local office business plan developments and deliver client service. He will maintain his role as the Fort Collins office manager as well.

Michele Hendrick has joined Denver’s Swanson Rink team as a sustainable coordinator to help facilitate the firm’s Sustainable Consulting Services. Hendrick has more than six years of experience in architecture, interior design and LEED coordination.

Swanson Rink is currently providing engineering and LEED coordination services for the Jackson Hole Airport Terminal Renovation project in Wyoming and the new Central Park Tower in Broomfield.
