Houston-based Texas Sterling Construction Co. was the low bidder on a $24.9-million construction project for bridges over IH-75 in Collin County.

The project consists of demolishing an bridge over IH-75 and the construction of two bridges, each 500 ft long, including the construction of 275,000 cu yds of embankment and 110,000 sq yds of approach paving.

Construction is expected to begin in this quarter and be completed within 21 months.
