Work began recently at Texas A&M University – Texarkana on the next facility at its new Bringle Lake campus as the school moves toward full enrollment. Previously only an upper-level university, TAMU–Texarkana welcomed its first freshman class in August. Houston-based Hoar Construction was selected as the design-builder for the new $14-million Bringle Lake Village, the first student housing on the campus, slated to open in fall 2011.

In August 2009, the Texas Legislature passed a bill to allow the downward expansion of the campus to accept freshman and sophomore enrollment. Phase one of the project will feature 127 suite-style units housing 294 residents in an 86,000-sq-ft facility just north of University Center.

The Tittle Luther Partnership of Abilene is the project architect.
